LIDERESAS by Ana Amado "Lideresas" - in English, female leaders - is the new outdoor photographic exhibition that will dress the exterior fences of our cultural center, a visual essay that vindicates the role of women in positions of responsibility in today's society. The exhibition brings together iconic images from recent history, starred by men, that are intervened to give visibility to the "Female Leaders of ...", a group of older women from different parts in the world - from Spain to Africa, and now from Washington DC as well -, who seek to give women a voice in society. This series is in an expansion process, and this will be the first time that Spanish photographer Ana Amado is portraying American women from the DC area. If you would like to participate in this remake, there will be 3 sessions available! Ideally, Ana Amado has always worked with women 60 or older, adding another layer to her work. If you are around the mentioned age, a woman, and want to have fun while contributing to this claiming project, sign up! We will need you to provide the following information: Availability: select the day that works for you and, at the end of this process, let us know the timePicture: at the last step of this form, tell us which picture you would like to remake and if you have the required clothing or notSign up and come to your selected spot! Have fun!RE-MAKED PICTURES1. Beatles: musicians Women: four women. Clothing: dressed like the Beatles (one in white, one in black, one in jeans, and one in a blue suit, pay attention to shoes) 2. Einstein: scientist Women: individual portraits. Better if white or light blond long-ish hair. Clothing: dark coat and white shirt. 3. G8: world political leaders Women: seven women and one man. Clothing: formal. It’s important if you can come dressed as American politicians, trying to resemble Hillary Clinton, or Angela Merkel (Germany), or Christine Lagarde (France), etc. In the case of the man, also with a suit and tie. It would be good if, as in the original picture, all women were dressed slightly informal and the man (representing Angela Merkel) a bit more formal. The tie is important to make this distinction between slightly less formal and really formal. 4. Thomas Alva Edison: inventor Women: one woman Clothing: try to replicate a woman of the 1900s (see example pictures) and if possible hairdressed as Marie Curie 5. Andy Warhol: artist Women: one woman with short hair Clothing: black coat with neck up and white glasses. 6. Joe Biden y Kamala Harris: president and vicepresident Women: an old black woman and a bit younger man Clothing: try to replicate Kamala Harris’ and Biden’s clothing --------- Visitor Guidelines and Safety Measures This is an outdoor activity.
