Ayurveda’s spinal hygiene program blends different modalities and exercises together to prepare the spine for decompression via the ELDOA method. The beginning of the class will be a mindful and easeful warmup using techniques from postural restoration, functional range conditioning, functional strength and yoga to create the warming and fluid flow necessary for spinal decompression postures to be effective. Once warm, a handful of ELDOA sequences will allow for space in specific joints by creating tension in the correct fascial chains. This tension will stimulate blood and cerebral spinal fluid flow throughout the spine and to organs thus improving visceral function and overall awareness.
