Playing all sorts of Tom Petty's best music that you might have forgotten was Tom Petty music, as well as lots more rock classics (they might even sneak a "Free Bird" in! Sorry, but you'll have to leave your lighter home!!) Tom Petty's tragic death in 2016 marked the end of a brilliant career that spanned 4 decades. Solo or with the Heartbreakers, Petty sold more than 80 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. His greatest gift was arguably his ability to reflect the best of Americana with simple lyrics that are easy to sing along to ("I put the pedal down to make some time") as well as clever turns of phrase ("You tangle my emotions") that pull the listening experience deeper. Tom Petty interpreted stories in a way that made the mundane extraordinary and turned common folk into heroes.
