Hydrology is the study of water and hydrologists are scientists who study water. About 71 percent of the Earth's surface is water-covered. Not only is there surface water, but there's also groundwater. Though it is underground, groundwater actually offers many more uses than surface water! Hear how in this session featuring Debbie Gordon, PG, a hydrologist with the United States Geological Survey also known as USGS. Students who plan to become hydrologists need a strong emphasis in many disciplines including math and geology.
