The bedrock of society is the well-being of families, yet there is growing evidence that Immigrant and Refugee families are confronted with serious issues that are beyond their control. These adversely affect their mental health and their capacity to perform their crucial function of socializing/supporting its members.
To maintain a sense of purpose for the school year post pandemic, this workshop is designed to help families, school cultural liaisons, cultural family advocates, teachers, school social workers, counselors, school librarians, school nurses, volunteers, agencies, and service providers working with immigrants, refugees, and undocumented students in the school system to recognize and respond appropriately to their mental health needs at the individual and family levels. Information about available resources and community services/supports will be provided.
