CALLING ALL DANCE MAKERS IN CONNECTICUT! CALLING ALL ARTS PRESENTERS AND CURATORS IN CONNECTICUT! CALLING ALL FUNDERS - PUBLIC & PRIVATE! CALLING ANYONE WHO ENJOYS DANCE IN ANY WAY! DISCUSSION ~ 6:00PM-7:00PM Continued mingling/gathering 7:00-7:30PM We are reaching out to the community to invite you to join in this discussion, and then to work with your local dance makers in finding solutions towards supporting dance – an art form that needs more infrastructure to thrive here in our home. The evening is hosted by Alexis Robbins (kamrDANCE), Lynn Peterson (SYREN Modern Dance), and Babz Rawls-Ivy (board member of several arts organizations and all around artist and avid New Havener), BUT ALL PRESENT WILL BE PARTICIPATING TO MAKE THIS DISCUSSION RELEVANT TO EVERYONE'S EXPERIENCES AS WELL AS TO IDENTIFY WHAT IS NEEDED FOR THE FUTURE. We believe dance deserves a seat at the table. Local professional dance artists could be presented as often as visual artists, musicians, and theater in Greater New Haven and throughout Connecticut. We implore you to attend, listen, and to reflect on how you can engage local professional dance artists in your annual curations. Dance is not an extra add-on, it commands the same respect as visual art, music, and theater. Art expressed through the body enhances and emboldens other art forms. Join us as we ALL discuss ways to rally and commit more support for the incredible art form of dance.
