Dr. Mark Skellie and Sarah Zoghbi, LPC will provide information about psychedelic-assisted therapy, as informed by their clinical experience working with psychedelics, to help fellow clinicians develop a practical understanding of this newly validated form of psychotherapy. We will review the theory and model of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy in current clinical research. We will also review the results of the phase 3 MDMA-assisted psychotherapy trial and the phase 2 psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy trial that were recently completed. An experiential breathwork component will be included to allow for participants to acquire a felt sense of an altered state; participants will then have the chance to work through integrating those experiences en vivo.
