Description

We will be on the George Latham Trail at Clinton Lake for approximately 4.5 miles. The George Latham Trail meanders through forest, open fields and along the shoreline and returns to the trail head. Beaver, coyote and white-tailed deer are Eagles are commonly observed in the area. Also, waterfowl can be seen in the arms of the lake during certain seasons. Chestnut oak, black walnut, eastern red cedar, hackberry, and sumac trees are the most common trees making up the forest.This hike includes some great views, steep incline/decline, uneven surfaces and rocky, uneven terrain. Hiking poles are recommended as well as shoes or boots with tread designed for traction. Dirty Dudes, Dirty Kids and Dirty Dogs are all welcome for this event as long as they are up to the challenge. Dirty Dogs must be leashed for the duration of the event. Participants will receive an email with specific directions and updates regarding weather and conditions 24 hours prior to the event. When: 10am Saturday March 18th, 2023 - specific directions will be sent 24 hours prior to the event. Wear/Bring: Dress in layers, day pack, trekking poles, wear sturdy shoes/boots with traction, hat, gloves, water, snacks What: Hike about 4.5 miles. Feel the fresh air, see the sights, meet new friends! What are you paying for? Dirty Girl Adventures, LLC will organize the event, provide a guide, support on the trail and docent information throughout the event. We will monitor the weather and conditions to ensure that our event and participants are safe. Our knowledgeable and informed guide service includes a leading guide and a sweep guide during the hike. Trail support including: first aid, knowledge of the environment and locale, safety monitoring, pacing, interpretive information on the environment and location. In case you are wondering about our refund policy – refunds are given up to two weeks before the date of the event when the refund is requested in an email directed to [email protected]. After that, there are no refunds. Dirty Girl Adventures may cancel an event due to weather or conditions. Everyone will receive a refund if that is the reason for the cancellation. We will paddle and hike in cool, rainy or snowy conditions. Cancellation only occurs in severe weather or other dangerous conditions.
