The Werewolf Chase runners and walkers will launch from Fort Wayne Outfitters across the River from picturesque Promenade Park at 11:00am and follow the Fort Wayne Trails network for an out-and-back 5k fun run. Costumes are encouraged so dress to impress! We will award fun prizes to the the coolest costumes! First place male and first place will each win a $50 gift card from Fort Wayne Fleet Feet! You’ll win a cool finisher medal if you don’t get caught by the werewolf. How the chase part works: Participants wear flag football belts provided by the Getting Miles volunteers. The werewolves try to capture a flag from the belts before the participants reach the finish line. These are the friendly kind of werewolves that won’t try to frighten the kids! Volunteers will collect the belts from participants at the finish line. Participants will follow a bicycle lead on the route. The Run/Walk will begin at 11:00 AM. We release the werewolf at 11:05 AM. Don’t let the wolf catch you to win prizes and bragging rights! The Werewolf Chase is a free fun run open to all participants. Use your smart phone fitness app or fitness tracking device to track your time and then share your adventure on social media! Participants who have not completed a waiver during registration will be required to sign a liability waiver on site before participating in the event. Complete and share three of the four events and win a cool finisher medal after that last event. The route for each event will be posted to the STRAVA fitness app the day before the event. Routes will also be posted on game day! The GMAC Fun Run Series offers four fun and family-friendly events. Join us for three 5Ks(ish) and one trail 5-miler. We offer these events as free un-timed fun runs and we encourage participation from walkers and runners of all ages and abilities. Check out the four events in Eventbrite! The fourth event (Franke Fox Five) is a trail run and will follow five miles of pretty technical trail in Franke Park.
