Barista Skills: Espresso & Milk Preparation combines hands-on practice and group discussion to explore techniques for preparing espresso, steaming milk, and caring for espresso machines and grinders. Our small classes guarantee that new baristas have the opportunity to learn by doing and receive one-on-one coaching from our facilitators. By the end of class, learners will be able to - - Prepare espresso using a semi-automatic espresso machine and industry-standard bar tools. - Make adjustments to ensure that espresso pulls to a specific recipe, consistently. - Explain how extraction impacts espresso's flavor. - Use a steam wand safety and effectively. - Distinguish between latte and cappuccino preparation. - Conduct end-of-day cleaning protocols on equipment. All classes take place at our roasting facility at 505 Meadowlands Drive, Unit 108 in Hillsborough, NC 27278. Wearing a mask is now optional.
