Garden City is excited to welcome Josh Black as the facilitator of our Expository Preaching Workshop for pastors. Your cost for this workshop will include cover the cost of breakfast, refreshments, and lunch for the day. What will we be doing at this workshop? This workshop will consist of three things: Instructional Sessions (plenary sessions on principles of exposition), Exposition (a time of preaching/teaching from the Bible), and Small Groups (where participants present their work). The Small Groups include presentation of study on assigned passages using a provided Sermon Preparation Worksheet (courtesy of Simeon Trust). What is the schedule? 8:30-8:45 - Check-in/Refreshments/Coffee 8:45-9:30 - Methodology 9:45-10:45- Instructional Session 11:00-12:00 - Instructional Session LUNCH 12:45-2:15 - Small Groups 2:15-2:45 - Q&A with Josh Black 3:00-3:30 - Sermon Is there food? Yes! Light breakfast and refreshments will provided, as well as a lunch, catered by one of our local vendors. You won't leave hungry. Who is teaching? Josh Black is a Garden City native that now pastors First Evangelical Free Church of Wichita (firstfreewichita.org). Josh also is a facilitator for the preaching workshops with the Charles Simeon Trust (simeontrust.org). Who can come? This workshop is geared to pastors who regularly preach in local churches.
