Description

The Power of Community – Coming together as neighborsThe Muslim Association of Puget Sound (MAPS) invites you to meet your Muslim neighbors during Ramadan, break fast together and have dinner with us. We welcome you to share in a conversation about what it means to be neighbors and how we can strengthen our bonds of community, led by motivational speaker, community educator, and IOK Muslim Chaplain at UCLA, Ustadha Lobna Mulla. “Whoever proclaims to believe in God and the day of judgement should be gracious to their neighbor, should be generous to their guests, and should spread good words among people or hold their tongue,” thus Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) enjoined Muslims to care for our neighbors and our community. Join us for a Ramadan fast breaking dinner (Iftar) as we come together as one community to get to know each other and share in a conversation on how we can strengthen our bonds of community. (Note: this event sells out fast, so get your tickets early.) Age: 12 and above (Childcare is not available for children under 12) Dress code: Casual and modest. Registration is required for the event. Please make sure you enter the correct names for each ticket. We look forward to welcoming you to MAPS. PROGRAM: 5:00-5:30pm - Guest arrival, check-in, and seating 5:30-7:30pm - Welcome, program activities, and main presentation by Ustadha Lobna Mulla 7:30-8:30pm - Dinner and conversation among neighbors For questions or feedback: [email protected]
