Community Diversity Day: Cultivate Compassionate Community

Other

6474 Beechmont Avenue,Cincinnati OH 45230

25 March, 2023

Description

Join us as we cultivate compassionate community. A sense of belonging is important to our physical and mental health. When we feel supported by others, and others by us, it helps us manage stress and foster resilience. And the more we learn about others, the more we are prepared to recognize and value similarities and differences, creating a compassionate community where everyone belongs. On March 25, we'll come together to learn from Dr. Amy Bottomley of the award-winning National Underground Railroad Freedom Center along with Rachel Warden and Courtney Walton of Living UNDIVIDED who will lead participants in experience/time to listen and connect with one another. Community Diversity Day is based on the curriculum of Racial Diversity Awareness Day, first started by Turpin High School. We’ll learn from speakers and engage in facilitated smaller groups to learn about ourselves and each other using the same engaging activities and discussions from the original event. This free event is open to all adult residents of Anderson Township and Newtown. Questions? Email [email protected] Organized by The Task Force on Youth Mental Health and Protect Diversity
