Description

The Friends of the O'Fallon Public Library is hosting the nation's 16th President, Abraham Lincoln at O'Fallon Station! The real Mr. Lincoln is, of course, unavailable, but Randy Duncan is the next best thing. Mr. Duncan has been an Abraham Lincoln presenter for many years at schools, churches, civic groups, businesses, libraries, Civil War re-enactments, theater productions and museums (including the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and the Abraham Lincoln Home National Historic Site). Mr. Duncan was among the “Abes Across America” featured in a story in the April 2022 National Geographic. What's more, authentic and signed Lincoln documents will be on display courtesy of local resident Gene McCoskey. Mr. McCoskey will also present on the relationship between President Lincoln and Frederick Douglass, a social reformer, abolitionist, and statesman. All proceeds from this event support early childhood literacy initiatives, including the Friends work with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Your ticket comes with food, catering provided Edley's Bar-B-Que. Doors open at 5:30 pm.
