Description

The goal of this family event is to promote inclusion and celebrate the unique abilities of all individuals regardless of disability status. Music can serve as a language that transcends barriers and provide a therapeutic outlet. It can also act as a bridge that brings people together, creating a sense of community and belonging. We have a special musical treat planned for the children. From a disability-positive perspective, we will discuss the negative role of ableism, what to do about it, and tips for creating inviting spaces for people who identify as neurodivergent or disabled. Through this event, we hope to create a greater acceptance of people regardless of ability status. So, join us for a fun educational experience for the whole family! Panelist: Voilinist, Rodney Page, and Multi-instrumentalist, D. B. Hale Moderaters: David M. Brotherson, MSW, Co-Director of LEAD, and Tameka Citchen-Spruce, Co-Director of LEAD.
