Description
Learn about the benefits of powering your home with clean, renewable electricity—and how to get started right now. The future of housing is efficient, electric, and is 100% renewably powered. Growing numbers of Portlanders are making this transition for healthier indoor air quality, lower utility bills, greater comfort, and a clean and abundant future for our planet. But most of the work itself is pretty much invisible from the street. Join us for a sneak peek into how Ryan Shanahan, the Zero Energy Retrofits Manager for Birdsmouth Design-Build, retrofitted his 1907 Portland bungalow to net zero energy with off-the-shelf products—and now enjoys the benefits of a cozy, carbon-free home. Learn everything from low-cost DIY strategies, when to call in the pros, and what's on the horizon for homeowners within the Inflation Reduction Act in this one hour session. Followed by live Q&A to ask questions about your home. Food and beer available for purchase throughout the event. You’ll also have the opportunity to sign up for ElectrifyPDX, a yard sign and home certification program that supports homeowners and renters in their efforts to transition their homes to renewable energy. PRO TIP: Sign up for the program now, and pick up your Electrify signage and welcome packet at the event! About ElectrifyPDX: When you sign up, you get a yard sign to post in a visible spot. As you electrify each system in your home, apply badges to your sign. When your home is powered exclusively with renewable electricity, get your certification plaque to display outside your home.
