Description
Thrive Children's Ministry and Scappoose Foursquare Church are proud to once again offer this incredible conference to our local community in need of trauma-informed resources. The $18 ($30/couple) ticket cost includes conference registration, a prepared lunch, snacks, and drinks. Show Hope’s Hope for the Journey Conference (formerly the Empowered to Connect Conference) is designed to encourage and equip parents and caregivers meeting the everyday needs of children impacted by adoption and/or foster care. The conference is also a much-needed resource for churches, agencies, and organizations in their care and support of the families and communities they serve. This one-day, simulcast conference event is designed to reduce the barriers that stand between children and places of healing, security and hope. The conference will provide an in-depth look at the impact of trauma on children and will offer insights, strategies, and tools for caregivers to achieve effective behavioral change while promoting lasting connection and healing with their children. This conference is ideal for foster parents, adoptive parents, parents of children who have experienced trauma, educators, counselors, caseworkers, church staff, and anyone who works with children from hard places. A training certificate of completion will be provided for up to 6 hours of in-person training for Foster and/or Adoptive Resources. >Childcare is not provided< Conference Schedule*: Doors open/ Check-in: 9:00 – 9:25AM Module 1: 9:30-11AM An Introduction to Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) Trauma’s Effect on Neurological Development “Practical Perspectives” Break: 11:00-11:15AM Module 2: 11:15-12:45PM Connecting Principles The Connection Journey Through Stressful Experiences “Practical Perspectives” Lunch Break/Table DiscussionL 12:45-1:40PM Module 3: 1:45-2:15PM Empowering Principles Empowering within the Home "Practical Perspectives" Break 2:15-2:30 PM Module 4: 2:30 to 4:15 PM Correcting Principles Correcting Principles and Teens “Practical Perspectives” Closing remarks and distribution of certificates of completion: 4:00-4:15 PM *Modules may go a few minuets over/under, this is a proposed timeframe.
