Description
Do you have infant or children’s clothing that is now too small? Toys the kids have outgrown? Stuff you just want to pass on and don't want to just throw away? Is your baby or toddler growing like a weed and needs a new outfit? Made a developmental leap and needs new toys? Feel bad constantly buying ‘new’ stuff when you want to reuse? We are excited to announce the first ever Dad Guild Children's Flea Market! A place where caregivers can meet and sell (or donate) kid stuff to one another. Scheduled to line up with the annual Spring Cleaning push, please join us at the Integrated Arts Academy in Burlington on April 15, 2023 from 10am - 1pm. Want to sign up to be a “vendor” for the Childrens’ Flea Market to unload stuff? We have many – but not unlimited – spaces for families to reserve to sell their wares. Spaces available on a first come, first serve basis. We are asking for a small donation of $10 for signing up to help cover the costs of the event. FAQ- QUESTION: What is the children's flea market? It is a classic flea market but focused on kid stuff: clothing, toys, baby items, and any of the other items that surround childhood nowadays. It is an event where caregivers can sell, swap, buy or donate stuff and keep items out of the landfill. QUESTION: What is the age range of childrens’ stuff at the flea market? We're focusing primarily on items for kids in the 0-5 age range. QUESTION : Is there children's stuff I should not bring? Children’s car seats are not allowed to be resold or reused for liability reasons. QUESTION: Payment - How will people pay each other for stuff? We ask that people be flexible and inclusive in accepting payment. We are thinking it will be primarily cash and Venmo-based, but folks are welcome to find another payment method that suits them as well. QUESTION: How will my stuff be displayed? So setup will be kind of funky. There are some circular tables that folks will be able to display items on, and a couple rectangular ones as well. Other than that, folks are invited to bring a large blanket or a table of their own to display their items. It'll be a pretty relaxed environment, so think of however you'd like to display your stuff! QUESTION: How many vendors are you allowing? How can I sign up? Due to the size of the space, we're capping it at 25 vendors (vendor being you wanting to sell your stuff), first come first served. Register on Eventbrite, and then either pay @dadguild via Venmo, or make a donation through PayPal on our website. A spot is reserved once payment is received. QUESTION: What if no one takes the stuff I brought to the flea market? I don’t want to take it back home! You don’t have to. Dad Guild volunteers will help organize the donation of items that you don't want to return home with. Folks will be responsible for taking any unsold items with them at the end of the flea market that Dad Guild volunteers are unable to donate to community partners, which may include baby furniture, cribs, strollers, highchairs and playpens. QUESTION: Will there be food? We will have some light brunch fare – coffee, bagels and cream cheese – available to snack on.
