Irish Whiskey School is an annual event that arrives just in time for St. Patty's day. Join us at Whistle Pig Brewing on March 15 at 6 PM for an exploration of Irish Whiskey. This school will provide an intimate look at 6 different Irish Whiskeys and an opportunity to enjoy a dinner of traditional Irish Beef Stew and Boxty. Only Whistle Pig brings you such a unique way to learn about and enjoy Irish Whiskey.
Our Instructor this year is Greggor, owner of Downtown Fine Wine and Spirits, located in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. Greggor's knowledge and love of Irish Whiskey is deep and he will be presenting 6 different Whiskeys for tasting. Each one with a different story to tell, price point, and flavor profile. Greggor will share history and tradition of these distilleries breaking down for us what makes Irish Whiskey so special.
Dinner is served at 6 and Chef Dani of the Uncommons is back to provide traditional Irish Beef Stew and Boxty. Enjoy dinner with your choice of Whistle Pig's English and Irish-styled ales. We recommend pairing dinner with either the Whistle Pig Morning Fog Oat Meal Stout or the Jimmy Camp Irish Red, or perhaps a lighter ale like an ESB.
At about 6:30 we class starts with a traditional Irish toast and the samples begin. Greggor will walk us through the Irish countryside pouring 6 warm and wonderful examples of Irish Whiskey for us. He will introduce us to the distillery and so much more. As always, we will have giveaways and surprises.
