Join the Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office (SDO), Massachusetts Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), Greater New England Minority Development Council (GNEMSDC)and Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts (EDC) for an informational and networking session on Wednesday, March 22! This session will give you an opportunity to meet and create meaningful connections with other local business owners, as well as learn about programs and services offered by the SDO, MBDA, GNEMSDC and EDC. Light refreshments will be provided by Bay State Health. The SDO certifies these businesses and manages several programs that help them enhance their marketability when bidding on public contracts. About the Massachusetts Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), established in 1969, is an agency within the U.S. Department of Commerce. It is the only federal agency tasked with promoting competitiveness of minority businesses. The Massachusetts MBDA Business Center, operated by the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council (GNEMSDC), is part of its national network of business centers. The Center leverages GNEMSDC and the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NMSDC) corporate member relationships to assist our client partners. Like GNEMSDC, the Massachusetts MBDA Business Center focuses on the six New England states; however, the Center does not have a geographic limitation for clients, its services, sourcing resources, or contracting opportunities. About the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council (GNEMSDC) The Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council (GNEMSDC), an affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) is a nearly-50-year-old nonprofit agency of local and national major corporations dedicated to the economic advancement and development of minority business enterprises (MBE). The GNEMSDC provides access to capital, capacity building information and assistance, and MBE certification for minority business owners in the six New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont). Through GNEMSDC programs, business owners will obtain access to networking events, scholarship funds, and contracting opportunities in the public and private sectors. About the Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts (EDC) The Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts (EDC) is a private, not-for-profit corporation that provides resources and information to businesses operating in or entering the region by aiding in expansion, relocation and networking. The EDC’s mission is to deliver the services and business resources that will enable companies to thrive in Western Massachusetts while improving the region's economy and lifestyle through the creation of quality jobs and enhanced public and private investment.
