Our desert tour will begin with a meet and treat llamas at the ranch. Our wonderful camel quartet will gather to say hello. At first you will be amazed at their size and peculiarity, but as I have seen time and time again, your reservations begin to fade and our beautiful and majestic llamas will captivate you with their gregarious and curious nature. One of our llmas will be harnessed and ready for a 2-mile desert hike, which typically takes 40 to 60 minutes. The rest of the time, we will return to the corral with all four llmas and two goats, allowing you to return to the corral with four llamas and two goats. Our scenic desert has expansive open views, including the Joshua Tree Mountains, Johnson Valley, and ancient Black Mountain. As you walk with the llamas, you will be amazed at the variety of plants and creatures you see. From prehistoric creosote, majestic Joshua trees, adorable teddy bear cacti, to miner's lettuce, yucca and other seasonal edible desert plants, our master gardener desert docents and extraordinary llamas will unlock the ancient mysteries of the desert. The majestic open sky is the backdrop to this experience; They never disappoint. For the best experience, we do a 1.5-2 hour tour in cool temperatures. Note: You must be at least 18 years old. Additional considerations : You and up to five other guests may participate in this experience. Remember to stay hydrated, it's hot here even in the early morning and late afternoon. Strong/comfortable shoes with open toes.
