Michael Guinn will coordinate and host both the story slam and poetry slam at the 2023 Tejas Storytelling Festival. Michael is a two time national poetry slam finalist and the 2021 Tejas Story Slam Champion. Email him direct for info or text 972-704-5001 for details and rules. Story Slam at 10am-11:15  The theme for the story slam is "I Remember" 10 Storytellers 3 judges One 4-5 minute story Teller with Highest Score Wins Story slams are events that celebrate storytelling by inviting participants to share brief stories with an audience. Participants deliver the stories verbally and stories are limited to 5 minutes. Then the judges will scored them on a scale of 0.1 to 10 based upon originality, content and performance of their story. Can use music or props. Poetry Slam 11:15-12:15  5 judges One round Any Theme or topic 3 minutes 20 second time period Poet with highest score wins No music or props allowed A Poetry Slam Is a Poetry Art spokenword competition were the participants have three minutes with a 22nd grace period to recite all read an original poem, Then the judges will scored them on a scale of 0.1 to 10 based upon originality, content and performance of their poem.
