Come join us on Saturday, May 6, 2023 for this amazing half day of presenters and special education movie on how we can help our clients have a more healthy life starting at conception. This conference is for anyone serving in the birth community. Kate Phoenix: “Genetic Nutrition Prenatally Through Life” Kate is a Nutrigenomic & Fitgenomic Health Coach and has her BA Sports Management with a Minor in Health & Nutrition from Fresno Pacific University. She also has a Teaching Credential in Physical Education and Health Education from Chapman University. She is a DNAFCT (DNA Foods/Fitness Certified Trainer)and BAMOS Certified Autodidact. She has been married to her best friend for almost 24 years and has 7 children. When baby # 7 came along we sought help for her extreme fussiness and painful feeds. After her frenotomy we saw such a huge improvement that we had all the rest of the family assessed and then released and were able to see benefits for all members of our family. Kate started a Genetic Foods & Fitness business over 4 years ago and just opened a Health Clinic that includes alternative modalities: chiropractic, kinesiotherapy, ozone therapy, massage therapy, light therapy, foot detox, herbal therapy, essential oil therapy, nutritional therapy and genetic therapy. Melanie Henstrom: “Missed Tongue Ties and the Subsequent Consequences” As a little girl, Melanie had the opportunity to watch her OBGYN dad deliver babies and it was such an incredible process to be a part of, she knew she wanted to help babies when she grew up. She received her bachelor’s degree in Family Science from Brigham Young University and worked in adoption until she had her first of six children, which included twins, all of which she was able to exclusively breastfeed. She struggled with postpartum depression which has helped her to be all the more compassionate towards the mothers she works with. Once all 6 children were in school, she became a certified postpartum doula and focused on guiding families mainly with multiples. Given her personal experience, she felt called to serve breastfeeding mothers, so she went back to school to become an IBCLC. She has a passion for helping breastfeeding dyads and also loves educating others about the importance of treating ties. She feels very blessed to have trained with some of the top in the tongue tie field and hopes to continue to spread the word to help increase breastfeeding success. Melanie is also trained in Cranisoacral Therapy and Cranisoacral Fascial Therapy. She has spoken internationally at the OBI Conference in Las Vegas in 2021 and at the Gold Lactation Tongue Tie Conference in 2022. This is her third conference she has hosted in the Treasure Valley. She loves pillates, yoga and walking with her husband but most of all she loves spending time with her cute grand babies. Objectives: 1. The impact of breastfeeding on lifelong health 2. Before and after pictures of many health issues improved with release 3. The fascial line through the body and how it impacts growth 4. Consequences of poor sleep due to poor palatal development 5.
