BUSINESS NETWORKING EVENT Open to all Local businesses! The Atlanta-Newnan Holistic Chamber of Commerce (ATL-HCC), Leaf and Bean of Newnan , and Sunflower Fitness and Coaching are hosting a Night for Networking. Meet Shari our Guest Speaker: In the early 2000’s I suffered an injury to my neck, shoulder, and elbow. I moved from San Francisco to Georgia to live near my mom mostly to be near her but also to help me. She was taking water aerobics , and I joined her one day and absolutely loved it. The bonus was that I felt great in the water with my hurt body parts. This is how my instructor career started! Here to Help You I do not want to bore you with all my injury stories, and there are many, but this story is worth telling. I was in a Pilates class, on the floor, and about ½ way through a series came up that I was unable to do because of my injuries and because I was overweight. I was bummed. The instructor did not notice, nor did she give any modifications. I felt a bit hopeless and uncomfortable and as tears rolled down my cheek, I decided that I was never doing Pilates again. I realized that even though I always offered modifications in my classes, I needed to concentrate more on my personal connection with participants and recognizing what THEY needed. Now, here I am, my injured self, all these years later with a variety of earned credits and certifications, to make sure you have a great experience and help you feel empowered and accomplished. Lifestyle coaching is a little different from other techniques as you have to consider the whole person and their standard of living to make sure the behavior changes, they are looking for will fit OR you have to give reasonable strategies to help alter/modify their lifestyle.
