Registration: In an effort to provide quality hikes in an intimate, low-impact manner, as well as maintain a safe group size, we are requiring registration ahead of time. Register on this page. Space is limited. If no more tickets are available, we ask that you wait until our next hike to join us. ABOUT THE HIKE: This week we will be hiking the Seven Oaks Preserve Trail, a segment of the Carolina Thread Trail. The hike is about 5 miles and winds along the shore of Lake Wylie as well as through some of Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden's trail system. This hike is rated as moderate. There is little elevation change, but rocky and rooty terrain. We will start at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden parking lot. There is no fee to park here, only if you choose to stay and explore their beautiful facilities afterwards. Bring plenty of water and snacks, we will plan to take a break during the hike. After the hike, we will enjoy a refreshing Blue Blaze brew back at our taproom. A local food truck will be on-site to satisfy your hiker's hunger! All participants can partake in a free raffle for some awesome Blue Blaze goodies. Folks of all ages and most skill levels are welcome to join us. Leashed dogs can come along too! Hikes will be led by Appalachian Trail thru hiker, Heidi Nisbett. GPS LOCATION: Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, park in the back corner of their main parking area. 6500 S New Hope Rd, Belmont, NC 28012 Upon arrival look for the Blue Blaze Banner! WEATHER STATEMENT: Hikes are not canceled due to rain. If there is severe weather, hikes will be canceled by 8am the morning of.
