This year the ladies of the Forge Team have parterned with the ladies at One Degree Marketing to host an International Women's Day celebration. International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. We use this day to celebrate the way that women are making an impact in Birmingham, celebrating the contributions they are making to our societies. We also use this day to highlight and elevate female owned businesses and support the amazing female owned businesses. Join us as we celebrate the amazing women in business in Birmingham! Schedule for the morning: 8:00-8:30: Networking, Breakfast by Blueroot and Mimosas 8:30-9:15: Panel discussion 9:15-9:30: Q&A 9:30-10:30 Mini-Market **This year we have added a Mini-Market to the morning featuring local Women Owned Businesses. The Mini-Market will be open after the panel discussion for all attendees to browse and shop!! Panelists: Ashley McMakin is the owner/CEO of the Birmingham staple Ashley Macs. Ashley started her business catering for friends and family and has now grown to 5 restaurants located across Birmingham with the newest location at The Pizitz Food Hall. Sandra Hardy is the Executive Director of Urban Hope Development. Urban Hope Develpment is bringing hope to the community of Fairfield through education and economic development. The areas of focus are Education, Economic Development, Crisis Assistance & Housing. Kim Lee is the Founder and CEO of Forge, a professional coworking space located at The Pizitz Food Hall. Forge opened 5 1/2 years ago and has been serving Birmingham's small business owners, entrepreneurs and remote workers from day one! Jacqui Jones will be moderating the panel. Jacqui is the CEO of One Degree Marketing. Jacqui has worked over the last five years to grow One Degree from a small side-business, to a full-time job and now an agency. Jacqui built her business serving small business owners and has grown her business, now serving many established businesses and organizations in Birmingham and across the South East. Turn right on 3rd Ave. N and take a right on 19th St. N then take a right on 2nd Ave. N. If driving on Highway 280, follow signs for US-31 N/US 280 W. Take the US 11 N/1st Ave. N exit and keep left at the fork. Turn left onto 1st Ave. N. Turn right on 19th St. N and then left onto 2nd Ave. N. There are a few different parking options. You can park in the Pizitz deck and the first 2 hours are free. Otherwise, you can park in the McWane Center parking deck for $5 a day or the Alright parking deck (on the corner of 1st Ave. N and 19th St.) for $3 a day. If parking in The Pizitz deck, you can enter Forge by taking the elevator to A and walking through the alley to the Residence Lobby entrance. Enter the code *0182 on the call box and you will be let through both sets of door. You can take the stairs on your left to the entrance of Forge.
