Description

Doors at 7pm. Music starts at 8pm. Pat Kearns is a singer songwriter, recording engineer, and radio personality hailing from Portland, Oregon. He relocated near Joshua Tree, California, in 2017 when gentrification closed in on his studio, PermaPress Recording. Kearns latest album, “Getting Lost” is the first to be recorded at his off grid, solar powered recording studio, Goat Mountain. “Getting Lost” opens with a cover of Gene Autry’s “Riding Down The Canyon” and takes the listener on a journey through self-destruction (“If Living Don’t Kill Us”), the joys of listening to the radio (“Music On The Radio”), and the fringes of civilization (“Way Out on the Edge of Town”). Like the desert, the music is sparse, and the melodies feel like they could have been pulled from a desert breeze. When he’s not performing or in the recording studio, Pat Kearns can be heard on the Z107.7 Local Music Showcase broadcasting from Joshua Tree, California. Goat Mountain has hosted recording sessions with Jimbo Mathus, Roly Salley, This Lonesome Paradise, the late Leslie Jordan, and many others. Todd Albright is a country blues, twelve-string guitar player and vocalist based in Detroit, Michigan. Grounded in the pre-war era of the blues tradition (1880-1939), Todd is a mindful purveyor of blues history. His repertoire upholds musical pillars such as Blind Willie McTell, George Carter, Blind Lemon Jefferson and Leadbelly. His life’s work continues the distinguished tradition of the very roots of American music as told by the African American musicians who created it. Todd Albright joined Jack White’s Third Man Records in 2016. Todd's vigorous, gritty and soulful performances are accompanied by stories of the masters and a deep intuitive sense of respect for craft, providing audiences with a meaningful experience while creating a transcendent moment. One of the top blues guitarists in the world, Todd is the only contemporary twelve string player in his genre.
