HealthVisions Midwest of Fort Wayne is excited to partner with United Front to continue the ReThinking Health awareness series, a series focused on increasing health equity awareness, stirring discussion, and cultivating solutions for disparities in our community. This event will feature Dr. Virginia Caine, Director and Chief Medical Officer of Marion County Public Health Department. Her keynote address will be “Racism and Health Equity.” Dr. Caine’s work of pioneering and collaborative research has improved public health delivery system efficiencies and reduced health disparities. She is a founding member of the Indiana Health Information Exchange. She has accomplished a great deal at the Marion County Public Health Department, including setting up the first nationwide physician educational program regarding HIV/AIDS for the National Medical Association and reducing Black infant mortality rates by 46% as the co-director of the Indianapolis Health Babies Initiative. She works tirelessly to promote and advance public health through innovative programs, with a focus on infectious diseases.
