Educators are often the first to notice mental health challenges in students on our campuses. The Lake County Special Education Local Planning Area (SELPA) office is hosting Jennifer Nix, General Counsel from School and College Legal Services! Ms. Nix will provide information related to : Potential identification of student mental health challengesGuidance focused on potential evaluation for special educationIndividualized Education Program servicesProgram placementBehavior intervention strategies to considerParticipants will receive copies of handouts and presentation materials. Targeted audience could include: School Counselors, School Psychologists, Special Education Administrators and other school support staff. This professional development session will be held in the Kesey Room of the Lake County Office of Education Main office. Please park in the back parking lot of the building that can be accessed from Royale Ave or K Street.
