Safe Families for Children seeks to keep children safe and families together. We are rooted in faith, fueled by radical hospitality, disruptive generosity, and intentional compassion, in order to build a network of caring and compassionate volunteers to support families facing social isolation. Our goals are to prevent child abuse and neglect, reduce the number of children entering the child welfare system, and support and stabilize families.
Twenty years ago, the Lord put a calling on Dave Anderson's life. Driven by a broken heart for children suffering abuse and fueled by the research that shows children who remain at home even with marginal parents have better outcomes than those children who are forcibly removed and experience the placement disruption of foster care, Safe Families for Children was born.
Today, Safe Families has more than 100 chapters across the US as well as an international footprint. We've realized a need for Safe Families in Austin and are sprinting toward launch and need the support of local church partners to launch and operate successfully.
