From aerodynamics to zulu time; 9th-12th graders will learn many of the basics of aviation and space at the Midland Barstow Aviation Camp.
Students will hear from a variety of speakers including military, commercial, helicopter, and corporate pilots, aircraft mechanics and air traffic controllers and learn about aviation using a combination of classroom and hands on activities. A field trip to MBS will take the students to the Firebarn, Control Tower and Dow corporate hangar. Aviation Camp focuses on instilling basic knowledge and introducing various careers and training paths into the world of aviation.
Aviation Camp is Monday - Friday June 12 - 16 from 10:00am - 4:30pm at the EAA Hangar located on beautiful Jack Barstow Airport (2800 Airport Rd, Midland, MI 48642). This unique learning opportunity is open to students entering 9th - 12th grades this fall.
The cost of camp is normally $95. However, through the generosity of long time friend and speaker of the camp Mr. Bill Eyre and his family, 2023 camp tuition is reduced to $45.00.
*Note, students are invited to a special Young Eagles event on Saturday, June 17. Students will fly the route planned during camp one-on-one with a qualified pilot.
