Description

Join Sebago Trout Unlimited for our Winter Series Presentation at Bissell Brothers in Portland. Jim Pellerin, a Biologist for the Sebago Region with the Maine Department of Inland Fish and Wildlife (MDIFW), will be presenting on the importance of the Crooked River watershed. It will be a great opportunity to enjoy some great beer and food, see some friends, and learn a little more about this amazing river. Jim Pellerin is an expert on the Crooked River and its wild landlocked salmon population. Sebago Lake is one of only four wild landlocked salmon original watersheds and the Crooked represents 99% of the Sebago watershed's spawning habitat for salmon. Unfortunately there are threats to the watershed, including climate change and drought conditions in recent years which stress the salmon and make fish passage more challenging. Come learn more about this amazing fishery and how we can protect it! This event is free to the public but we ask that you sign up via Eventbrite to help us with headcount and planning. If you'd like to join or donate to Sebago TU, you can do so through the below link. https://sebagotu.org
