The United States will commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party on December 16, 2023. Dubbed by John Adams as the “most magnificent movement of all”, the Boston Tea Party is one of the nation’s most iconic events and one that propelled America down the road to revolution. In honor of this upcoming anniversary, The Canton Historical Society welcomes The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum to present a lecture and share plans for the grand-scale reenactment on the 250th Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party on December 16, 2023. This event will feature tea and light refreshments. Seating is limited and advance ticket reservations are highly recommended. Suggested donation - $6.00 (members) and $10.00 (non-members). Our SpeakersJosiah George has been telling the story and history of the Boston Tea Party to guests and staff for over a decade. As a member of the Creative Department at Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum he is proud to have been part of the team that created the museum experience and programs and enjoys the daily task to cultivate and maintain it. Having been part of Boston’s tourism industry for nearly twenty years with the museum and the Ghosts & Gravestones tours of Boston. Josiah brings a world of experience in producing and making stories accessible to any audience. Prior to the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, he enjoyed an exciting career in Theatre and Opera as a Director, Producer, Stage and Company Manager as well as a Sound Designer and Actor. Josiah lives with his family just down the street from the Church of the Presidents in Quincy Center. Kelly Horan Galante, Asst. Creative Manager at the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, has been a part of Boston's tourism industry and public history for 15 years. A native of Pennsylvania, Kelly moved to Boston for graduate school and fell in love with the city and its rich history! At the BTPSM, she is part of the team responsible for creating and maintaining the tour experience, training, and guiding the historical interpreters, and writing and producing special programming. When not discussing the Boston Tea Party, Kelly can be found baking, reading copious amounts of books, and hanging with her cat, Ollie.
