Event Details: UpaDowna has partnered with Pikes Peak Alpine School to offer a beginners ice climbing class at North Cheyenne Canon. This half-day of guided climbing is geared toward novice and first-time ice climbers. This four hour class will focus on the fundamentals of ice climbing-specific movement and technique, as well as gear selection and the unique safety considerations we face in the ice realm. Climb ice with Pikes Peak Alpine School's American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) Certified Alpine Guides and Ice Instructors. Your safety and well being are our highest priorities. PPAS guides are here to help you challenge yourself, have fun, and achieve your goals. Meeting Point: Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center - 2120 S Cheyenne Canyon Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80906. Please arrive by 7:15am. Cost: $150 per person. Includes all technical climbing gear, instruction from AMGA Certified instructors, and gratuity. Need Funding Assistance?: UpaDowna's Climb Fund provides local climbing opportunities for residents of Colorado Springs and its nearby surrounding areas who have a desire, but not the finanical means to climb.
