Every apple seed contains unique genetics, so to reproduce the apple varieties we know and love (and some we have forgotten about!), we must graft scions of one apple type onto rootstock. Sound complicated? It's not! Learn everything you need to know about grafting apples and growing seedlings in this workshop co-hosted by Branch Hill Farm, DeVylder Farm, and Carroll County Conservation District. You will do the grafting yourself and take home your very own potted tree, with instructions on its care and a description of its history.
Event is rain or shine. We will be handling potting soil, so dress for gardening! Waiver required as we will be using knives.
