In this little known tragicomedy co-authored by William Shakespeare and John Fletcher, two cousins find are sundered as their love for the same woman drives them apart. The actions and choices they make in pursuit of that love ripples out to effect that woman, a seemingly unrelated family, and in a cosmic-scale finale, themselves. In the end, even in the hardest of times, there is no way but forward. This production, directed by Lexi Linker ’23, explores love, loss, and kindness in the face of adversity on a post-apocalyptic backdrop.
The Two Noble Kinsmen will be performed in Elliot Program Center at Stanford University from March 2nd-4th, 2023. To keep up with the company and learn more about the production, follow @stanshakes on Instagram.
