Come celebrate National Handmade Day by making your own scrunchie! Bring your daughter, sister, cousin, best friend or just come and make new friends as we learn how to use a sewing machine and make MANY scrunchies! For this class, we will be focusing on how to operate a sewing machine. All the materials, tools, and sewing machines will be provided. However, if you have your own machine please feel free to bring it to class. Details:Date: 4/1 (National Handmade day!) Time: 1-4:30pm (Be punctual) Location: Mesh Cowork: 2005 Eye street suite 4 Bakersfield Ca, 93301 Price: $60 -Sewing machine basics and scrunchie making $40- Already know how to sew but just want to make scrunchies? We have an option for you! (tickets are not refundable but are transferable) Ages: 8 years and up The class will go as follows:Students will learn how to operate a sewing machine: (1-2:30pm) -Threading the bobbin -Threading the machine -Description of basic machine parts -Practice how to do a straight and zigzag stitch -Practice how to pivot Break (we will all take a small break) (2:30-3pm) Students will learn how to make a scrunchie: (3pm-4:30pm) -Sewing in a straight line -Create a casing -Use elastic -MAKE MANY SCRUNCHIES! Yay! Question time: We will leave time at the end of class for anyone to ask sewing related questions. While this class is intended for students with little to no sewing experience, experienced sewists are welcome to get creative and join in the fun. Health policy: If you are sick or even slightly feeling under the weather, STAY HOME. Tickets are transferable to another person. It is the ticketed persons responsibility to find a replacement.
