In January, the White House Launched Welcome Corps, a new private sponsorship program that assists everyday Americans in welcoming refugees arriving through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP). Welcome Corps is modelled after Canada’s successful program and America’s welcoming of Ukrainians. Join us for an engaging information session including background on Welcome Corps, Carlisle resources to support resettlement, a discussion of active roles, resources, and volunteer needs for area resettlement agencies, and Q&A. Goals of this information session include: Attract & recruit interested local volunteer sponsors for newly arriving refugee families.Foster connections and collaboration between resettlement agencies and nonprofits serving our community.Raise broader awareness and engagement to support newcomers moving to Central PA.Celebrate a welcoming community in Greater Carlisle!
