The first 125 students are eligible to take the bus transportation - 100 students from MMC and 25 students from BBC. Tickets are marked with "Transportation" or "No Transportation," so make sure to select the correct ticket according to your needs and campus. If these tickets sell out, you must find a ride down to Miami Beach on your own. What can I bring to the event? You will be walking and moving around so dress comfortably. Temperatures during the day can be dangerously high. We encourage you to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and headgear. We will provide refillable water bottles and extra water. Please remember to pick up from our office your 2022 FIU Pride shirt during Pride Week (starting Monday, April 10), and wear it to march in the Parade (more details shared later). You will NOT be allowed to march in the parade without it. Select the same color as your friends in order to march together! Can I hold the banner at the front of the parade? We have limited spots for people to hold the banner. Please indicate at check-out that you would like to do so and you may be selected to on a first come, first served basis. Note that this opportunity carries with it extra visibility as you will likely appear in many of the major promotional photos that come out after the celebration. What is the order of the colors in the parade? Everyone will walk grouped together with others wearing the same color shirt so that we make up the biggest rainbow on Ocean Drive! The order of the FIU parade contingency will be: BANNER (Front) - Purple - Blue - Green - Yellow - Orange - Red - Pink - FLOAT (Back) What happens if I missed the registration and tickets are sold out? You will be able to join the wait-list, and will be contacted closer to the event if people drop-out. You can also volunteer to support with the Pride Parade by emailing [email protected]. What COVID-19 procedures are in place for this event? All FIU panthers and visitors are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated, boosted, and wear masks for FIU events. We also highly recommend that you get tested within 24 hours before attending. Testing sites are available on both FIU campuses. For updated testing information please go here. What if I am disabled, can I participate? ALL people with disabilities are welcome to join us for the parade. Please note that participation does involve standing, walking, and there can be no relief from the sun for an extended period. If you have a particular need that requires you receive a spot on the float to accommodate, please indicate this at check-out. Note that the DJ is on the float so the noise volume is loud on there. If you require any further accommodations, please submit them within five (5) days in advance of the event to [email protected]. How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Please email [email protected] with any questions you may have.
