National Equal Pay Day is March 15, symbolizing how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year. Holberton Tulsa, Oklahoma Women in Technology and Tulsa Remote are hosting a workshop from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. at the Holberton campus, 15 N. Cheyenne Ave. Holberton’s instructor of general education Megan Radford will join Karen Pennington, Director of Madison Strategies Group (a non profit connecting individuals to employment and education opportunities) to address the gender pay gap, how to ask for a raise and earning opportunities for women in the tech sector. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. _______________ Speaker Bios Karen Pennington: Karen Pennington is a seasoned strategic and innovative leader with an entrepreneurial spirit. She is inspired by developing creative solutions to solve complex challenges. Together with her awesome team, she focuses on exceeding client goals, building meaningful relationships, and empowering others to consider new possibilities. Projects that increase organizational capacity (both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors) in the areas of new business start-up, commercial space development, marketing, human resources, contract negotiations, program development, workforce development and funder relations are a few of her passions. Megan Radford: Megan Radford is a General Education Instructor at Holberton Tulsa. Originally from Tulsa, she attended the University of Tulsa gaining a degree in Business Management (emphasis on Human Resource Management) and a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Her passions in HR are in training and development, DE&I and employment law. After working in the corporate world, she came to Holberton Tulsa to share her love of teaching and empowering people. Megan's goal is to ensure others have access to the knowledge and critical thinking skills to be informed and engaged employees.
