This event will feature a panel of men of color from the Durham Public Schools community to share their experiences and perspectives regarding the impact of hairstyle choices, redefining masculinity and individual/collective impact.
This week/initiative was created to elevate the national CROWN Act, ensuring that there is protection against discrimination that is based on race-based hairstyles in schools and the workplace. DPS C.R.O.W.N. Week focuses on providing opportunities for learning and engagement, centering the role and impact of the C.R.O.W.N. Act in the Durham community while illuminating, affirming and amplifying the diversity of voices and experiences in our community.
**Doors will open at 5:30 PM and we invite you to join us for some PhotoBooth Therapy fun before the program!
