Description

About Dennis Gulley Dennis Gulley is an artist from Fort Payne, Alabama. He moved to Muscle Shoals, Alabama, in 1974 where he helped form the southern rock band Jackson Highway. They were produced for Capitol Records by Jimmy Johnson and David Hood, two members of famed rhythm section The Swampers. Jimmy suggested the band be named after the Muscle Shoals Sound address, 3614 Jackson Highway. The band still performs several concerts each year and they last recorded a track for the 2018 Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham tribute CD. Dennis’ voice has been heard on national and local jingles as well as demos of all kinds. The demo that stands out and that most connects him to Muscle Shoals is "Old Time Rock and Roll." He sang the original demo that was pitched to Bob Seger. Currently Dennis lives and works in Nashville as a recording/mix engineer, producer, vocalist and session musician. As a sideman, he has played with Alabama, Dr. Hook, and Jeff Cook and his AGB band. He is currently working with Cody McCarver (of Confederate Railroad) and John Schneider (of The Dukes of Hazzard) and with the Stars N Bars Band.
