Learn how to revitalize worn out, torn, or damaged pieces of clothing making them even more beautiful than they were before! We'll show you how the damage offers the opportunity to create a new design and enhance the beauty of a garment while imbuing it with story and character. We'll hand sew patches, incorporate new fabrics, mend with flair items of clothing or textiles in need of a little TLC. Bring your dud duds and we'll work together to make them whole again. Participants who pre-register will receive a free mending kit, made with love by our teaching artist Kyr Westwind. Kyr is a fiber and mixed media artist with several years experience teaching various art forms in and around Eugene, Or. She is a versitile and talented local artist and we're delighted to have her teaching at MECCA. This is a drop-in event. Come at anytime, stay for some or all of the event.
