Description
The laughter is coming to Owego when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at the John Barleycorn on Wednesday, March 15. Zack Hammond is headlining the show and Bill Russum and Marc Hoover are joining host Mike Peters. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and there's a recommended $5 donation at the door, which opens at 7. Come out and enjoy the show. About the comedians: Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters is the founder of Homebrewed Comedy. He hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcasts, On the Mic with Mike Peters and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast. Marc Hoover got his start in stand-up in 2019 and has been one of the hardest-working comedians in Binghamton ever since. A member of the Army for six years, a former police officer and now a part of the National Guard, Hoover is armed with a life’s worth of stories and he’s finally found an outlet that doesn’t include a gun and a haircut. You don’t need to salute him. A few chuckles will do. Bill Russum was one of the mainstays of the comedy scene in Lewisburg, Pa., before moving to Harrisburg. Russum has been able to combine a minor drinking problem with a major podcasting addiction. He hosts Oh, Yeah, Let’s Talk About and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast with Mike Peters. A musician and deejay, Russum is too busy for his own good, but is free enough to keep the beer fridge full. Originally from Maryland, Zack Hammond has been doing stand-up for more than a decade and has traveled all over the country while working on recording his four albums, including his latest, “... Because I’m Considerate.” He performs regularly at Wise Crackers in Scranton and has worked in New York City, Philadelphia and Baltimore and opened for Doug Stanhope. Known for his dark take on life, the world and humanity, Hammond won the 2010 NEPA Comedy Idol and NEPA Scene’s Got Talent in 2015.
