Tony Napoli, a renowned local Bucks County muralist and retired art educator, will share tips for getting started in mural work and taking your existing mural practice to the next level. Tony's mural creation flourished upon retiring as a teacher from the Pennsbury School District. Although he was able to initiate and produce numerous mural projects while working as an art educator, he now has the time to complete large-scale public and community commissions. The first commission accepted was the Greetings From Yardley project completed in the summer of 2020. Tony designed the mural in the fashion of the “Greetings From” historical postcard style that is often seen in major cities, featuring local iconic images representative of the location, in the letters. He has since completed 6 large-scale murals in various locations throughout Bucks County.
Tony has numerous upcoming projects including a mural at Edgewood Elementary in April and his biggest project yet in Morrisville, PA. Tony received a Master's degree in Art Education from the University of the Arts and taught in the Pennsbury School District for 30 years.
Participants will receive 2 hours of Act 48 credit.
There are two Pennsbury campuses. Please note that this event is taking place at Pennsbury High School, East Campus.
Enter through the doors near the murals (under the "Noodle Looking Roof"). The event will take place in classroom B-102 behind the auditorium. Look for the PAEA signs.
