The Christopher N. Mitropoulos Memorial Scholarship The Christopher Nicholas Mitropoulos Memorial Scholarship Fund and Board of Trustees were established in 2003 in memory of Chris Mitropoulos, a Winchester High School junior and classmate of the WHS Class of 2004. Chris was an active, respected member of the Winchester High School community. He was a strong competitor who always gave "110%" as a teammate on the varsity hockey and baseball teams and as a co-captain of the junior varsity soccer team. Chris was an honor roll student who worked diligently in his academic honors classes. He also was a contributing writer to the school newspaper, the Red and Black. Chris was well respected within the Winchester community. He was a member of St. Mary's Youth Group and an umpire and volunteer for the Sachem Youth Baseball/ Softball Association. In addition, his community involvement included volunteer work at Winchester Hospital and the Woburn Council of Social Concern Food Pantry. Chris also was a member and employee of the Winchester Swim and Tennis Club. The Christopher Nicholas Mitropoulos Memorial Scholarship was established to benefit graduates of Winchester High School who exemplify the qualities Chris demonstrated during his life. His perseverance, heartfelt determination, camaraderie towards fellow students, and understanding of friendship and team spirit were character traits he displayed on a daily basis.
