The Long Island Complete Streets Summit is an annual event that brings together officials, advocates, and interested parties from across the region to discuss best practices when it comes to sharing our roads. For over a decade this event has facilitated conversations that both inform and educate when it comes to using our streets for all modes of transportation, including walking and biking.
These modes of transportation are as important as ever as health and safety take a central role in how we build and maintain the pathways that run through our communities. We look forward to hearing from the experts on how best to shape both the present and the future of transportation in the region.
This year's special guest will be Dan Burden of Blue Zones. Dan Burden, Blue Zones Director of Innovation and Inspiration, was named one of “100 Urbanists of All Time”. With extensive experience in walkability, he will guide us through how some of these techniques can be implemented on Long Island.
