The conference is New York's premier statewide community development event, and this year the panels and workshops will tackle issues that can strengthen our institutions and communities, such as: Creating and preserving affordable housing and community facilities; Strengthening small businesses and nonprofits post-pandemic; Helping your clients manage and build credit; Finding, developing, and retaining staff in a tight market; and Sourcing capital in a high interest rate environment. The conference will feature the very latest developments on CDFI Certification and Federal and New York State funding for CDFIs. We are also excited to invite you to join us as we welcome Professor Matthew Desmond to Albany to discuss one of the most anticipated books of the year, “Poverty, by America” (Crown, March 21, 2023). Desmond is the author of "Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City" which won the Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction, National Book Critics Circle Award, Carnegie Medal, and PEN / John Kenneth Galbraith Award for Nonfiction.
