The Carlos Vieira Foundation is proud to host the 4th Annual San Joaquin Valley Portuguese Festival presented by PFSA, the Portuguese Fraternal Society of America! The festival will be held at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in Turlock, CA on April 22nd, 2023. The celebration is open to ALL people to come discover the culture and heritage of the Portuguese people and honor their contributions to the San Joaquin Valley and the state of California. This family-friendly event will showcase traditional Portuguese dancing, music, and cuisine. The festival will be kicked off on April 22nd by a Portuguese parade followed by plenty of activities including folklore and philharmonic performances, bull on a rope by Joe Vaz, a wine and cheese tasting, a cultural exhibit, carnival rides, and plenty of Portuguese food and craft vendors. We will also have exciting performances on the 51FIFTY Stage throughout the day. Back by popular demand the Portuguese Kids, from Brazil Alex Ferrari, and with his east coast band, Jorge Ferreira! New this year stay for the after party with DJ Marcos Shalon. Admission and parking on Saturday are FREE! Come back on Sunday, April 23rd to join us for a traditional Portuguese Bloodless Bullfight! Gates open at 2pm for the carnival, bar, and food booth. The bullfight starts at 4pm and will be followed with live music. Admission to the fairgrounds carnival area and parking are FREE, tickets for the bullfight are only $15. Get your bullfight tickets during the festival on Saturday or at the gate on Sunday. Come experience Portuguese culture while supporting a great cause. All proceeds benefit the Carlos Vieira Foundation’s Race for Autism campaign which helps families who have children living with Autism in Central California.
