What is a Chef Shea Soiree you may ask? It is a modern take on a supper club. Each Chef Shea Soiree is a pop-up located at a different venue with a new menu. This specific menu is an ode to on my traveling experiences and cooking classes backpacking throughout Peru. Drinks • Inca Kola (a soft drink that was created in Peru in 1935 by British immigrant Joseph Robinson Lindley. The soda has a sweet, fruity flavor that somewhat resembles its main ingredient, lemon verbena). Guests can enjoy with alcohol or no alcohol. • Chicha Morada (a beverage that originated in the Andean regions of Perú made from purple corn, along with apples, pears, lime and spices). Guests can enjoy with alcohol or no alcohol. • Lemon Spearmint Water Food • Amuse-Bouche: Crispy Papas a la Huancaina (Classically, this Peruvian appetizer is boiled potatoes in a spicy, creamy sauce made of queso fresco and sautéed or grilled ají amarillo, red onion and garlic, all traditionally ground or pounded in a batán.) • Dinner palate cleanser. • Proteins: Lomo Saltado, a soy marinated sirloin beef stir fry with onions, tomatoes, cilantro and Peruvian spices. Pollo a la Brasa, brined & blackened chicken served with fresh limes and creamy aji verde sauce. • Accompaniments: Arroz Chaufa (Peruvian fried rice) and charred vegetables. • Dessert palate cleanser. • Dessert: Fried Plantain smothered in Peruvian coffee glaze.
